BMI (B. Braun Medical Industries Sdn Bhd) in Penang, Malaysia, seeks a skilled Maintenance Engineering Lead to manage a team of technicians for preventive and corrective maintenance on highly automated assembly equipment.

Lead and manage a team of technicians to ensure effective execution of preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, and equipment troubleshooting activities.
Serve as the equipment owner for highly automated assembly and manufacturing equipment, ensuring optimum machine performance, reliability, and uptime.
Perform hands-on troubleshooting and repair of mechanical, electrical, electronic, pneumatic, and automation-related equipment issues.
Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs, manage spare parts inventory, and drive continuous equipment improvement initiatives.
Conduct root cause analysis using structured problem-solving methodologies such as 8D and implement effective corrective and preventive actions.
Support customer complaint investigations and prepare comprehensive technical investigation reports.
Develop and deliver technical training programs to enhance technician competency and technical capabilities.
Lead equipment upgrade, obsolescence, and component replacement projects to ensure long-term equipment sustainability.
Provide technical support for automation systems, including PLCs, sensors, motors, drives, vision systems, and pneumatic systems.
Support manufacturing operations and provide on-call technical assistance when required.

Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
Minimum 5 years of experience supporting highly automated assembly equipment, preferably within the medical device manufacturing industry.
Proven experience managing and leading a team of maintenance or equipment technicians.
Hands-on experience in machine troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of automated manufacturing equipment.
Strong knowledge of PLCs, sensors, motors, drives, vision systems, and industrial automation technologies.
Good working knowledge of pneumatic systems, particularly Festo and SMC components.
Experience in root cause analysis, customer complaint investigations, and preparation of technical reports.
Practical knowledge and application of 8D problem-solving methodology.
Experience developing and conducting technical training and competency development programs.
Experience managing equipment obsolescence, upgrade, or migration projects will be an added advantage.
Exposure to industrial robotics, including Mitsubishi, Yamaha, or Stäubli 6-axis and SCARA robots, will be an added advantage.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Able to work independently with minimal supervision and provide after-hours support when required.
