B. Braun Medical Industries in Penang is seeking an experienced Senior Maintenance Engineer to lead a team of technicians and ensure high uptime for highly automated assembly equipment.
You will troubleshoot complex mechanical, electrical, and automation issues and drive preventive maintenance programs. The role requires hands-on expertise with PLCs, sensors, motors, drives, vision systems and pneumatic systems, plus experience in root cause analysis and technical training delivery.
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
Minimum 5 years of experience supporting highly automated assembly equipment, preferably within the medical device manufacturing industry.
Proven experience managing and leading a team of maintenance or equipment technicians.
Hands‑on experience in machine troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of automated manufacturing equipment.
Strong knowledge of PLCs, sensors, motors, drives, vision systems, and industrial automation technologies.
Good working knowledge of pneumatic systems, particularly Festo and SMC components.
Experience in root cause analysis, customer complaint investigations, and preparation of technical reports.Practical knowledge and application of 8D problem‑solving methodology.
Experience developing and conducting technical training and competency development programs.
Experience managing equipment obsolescence, upgrade, or migration projects will be an added advantage.
Exposure to industrial robotics, including Mitsubishi, Yamaha, or Stäubli 6‑axis and SCARA robots, will be an added advantage.
Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.Able to work independently with minimal supervision and provide after‑hours support when required.
