• Experience with local utility providers and government authorities for approvals.

Highway Systems Oversight: Supervise the installation of critical highway M&E systems, including street/smart lighting, CCTV, and Variable Message Signs (VMS).

Power Distribution: Oversee the deployment of high/low voltage power distribution networks, substations, and backup generators along the highway.

Site Supervision & Coordination: Manage on-site M&E subcontractors and coordinate with civil/structural teams to prevent utility clashes.

Regulatory & Safety Compliance: Ensuring all highway electronics, lighting, and fire safety systems meet stringent national transport and authority standards.

System Reliability & Uptime: Guaranteeing that critical safety systems (emergency phones, tunnel ventilation, backup power) are 100% operational.

Utility Coordination: Securing approvals and managing connections with national power, water, and telecommunications providers

Risk & Hazard Management: Sharp eye for identifying potential structural or electrical hazards in a fast-paced, outdoor construction environment.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

1. Education: Must possess at least Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering from the recognized Educational Institution.
2. Industry Background: Minimum of 3–5 years of progressive experience in M&E engineering, with at least 1–2 years specifically dedicated to infrastructure, highway, bridge, or large-scale civil engineering projects.
3. Professional Registration: Graduate Member of a national engineering board/council (e.g., BEM in Malaysia, PE Board, or equivalent local regulatory body) is highly preferred.
   • Direct experience in supervising the installation and commissioning of highway-specific systems, such as: Street, highway, and high-mast lighting grids.
   • Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), SCADA, CCTV, and Toll Collection Systems.
   • Power distribution networks, substations, and UPS/generator backup systems.
   • Tunnel ventilation and fire-fighting systems (if applicable).
4. Site Management: Proven track record of managing on-site sub-contractors, conducting site inspections, and resolving technical clashes between civil structures and M&E utilities.
5. Authority Liaison: Experience dealing with local utility providers and government authorities for power/water supply applications and compliance approvals.
