Job summary

PROTON in Malaysia seeks an experienced Environmental/WWTP Engineer to manage wastewater and scheduled waste operations in accordance with environmental regulations.

The role requires 7–10 years of experience in WWTP or environmental management, strong knowledge of the Environmental Quality Act 1974, and ISO 14001, along with DOE regulatory compliance experience.

Qualifications

• 7–10 years of experience in WWTP or environmental management in manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of Environmental Quality Act 1974, Scheduled Waste Regulations, and ISO 14001.
• Experience with WWTP operations, eSWIS, and regulatory compliance.
• DOE Competent Person certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage WWTP and SWP operations in compliance with environmental regulations.
• Ensure proper handling, storage, transportation, and disposal of scheduled waste, including eSWIS reporting and documentation.
• Liaise with the Department of Environment (DOE) and support inspections, audits, and regulatory compliance.
• Monitor environmental performance and implement waste minimization and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with HSE standards, conduct risk assessments, and maintain environmental emergency response plans.
• Coordinate with contractors and internal stakeholders to ensure safe and compliant environmental operations.
