Job summary

Cenviro Malaysia is seeking a seasoned Environmental Manager to ensure compliance with environmental laws and uphold ISO 14001 standards across operations in Negeri Sembilan. You will manage waste handling, audits, risk assessments, training, and stakeholder liaison, driving continuous improvements and sustainability initiatives.

This role reports to the Environmental Department and involves coordinating with regulators and suppliers to maintain licenses and permits, and supporting new projects

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environment Engineering or related field.
• CEPSWaM certification for Scheduled Waste Management.
• Minimum 3 years' experience in Scheduled Waste Management.
• Experience in management roles: at least 2 years as Manager/Assistant Manager.
• Minimum 4 years as Executive/Senior Executive.
• Willingness to learn, leadership, interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate internal and external environmental audits and inspections.
• Oversee proper handling, storage, transportation and disposal of scheduled/hazardous waste.
• Drive sustainability and environmental performance improvements across operations.
• Conduct risk assessments and manage incidents to prevent recurrence.
• Develop and deliver environmental training for staff and contractors.
• Liaise with regulatory agencies, consultants, waste generators, and service providers.
• Support projects and process changes with EMS/ISO 14001 alignment.
• Provide environmental guidance to operations and support permit renewals.
• Assist management in achieving environmental compliance and sustainability objectives.

Ensure full compliance with environmental laws, regulations, permits, licenses, and company policies at WMC and CJSB

Monitor regulatory requirements and communicate changes to relevant stakeholders.

Coordinate with government authorities on environmental compliance matters and inspections.

Manage environmental monitoring programs covering air emissions, wastewater, noise, waste management, and resource consumption.

Prepare and submit statutory environmental reports accurately and within stipulated timelines.

Maintain environmental records, registers, permits, and compliance documentation.

Support implementation and maintenance of ISO 14001 Environmental Management System.

Conduct regular compliance reviews and assessments to ensure EMS/IMS effectiveness.

Drive continuous improvement initiatives related to environmental performance.

4. Audit and Inspection Management

Plan and coordinate internal and external environmental audits.

Facilitate regulatory inspections and customer audits.

Track audit findings and ensure timely closure of corrective and preventive actions (INCR).

5. Waste Management and Pollution Control

Oversee proper handling, storage, transportation, and disposal of scheduled/hazardous waste.

Monitor pollution control equipment and ensure operational effectiveness.

Implement waste reduction, recycling, and resource conservation initiatives.

6. Sustainability and Environmental Performance

Support sustainability programs aimed at reducing carbon footprint, energy consumption, water usage, and waste generation.

Analyze environmental performance indicators and recommend improvement measures.

Prepare sustainability-related reports and presentations for management review.

7. Risk Assessment and Incident Management

Conduct Operational environmental risk assessments and identify potential compliance gaps.

Implement corrective and preventive actions to prevent recurrence.

8. Training and Awareness

Develop and conduct Operational environmental compliance awareness programs for employees and contractors.

Promote Operational environmental responsibility and best practices across operational teams.

Ensure mandatory environmental training requirements are met.

9. Stakeholder and Contractor Management

Liaise with regulatory agencies, consultants, waste generators, and service providers.

Evaluate operational environmental compliance performance of waste generators and vendors.

Accountability and Support permit renewals and environmental operational & project implementation.

10. Operational Support

Provide environmental compliance guidance to operations teams.

Support new projects, facility modifications, and process changes through environmental impact assessments.

Assist management in achieving environmental compliance and sustainability objectives.

Requirements:

Minimum Bachelor's Degree preferably related to Environment Eng.

Certified Environment Professional in Scheduled Waste Management (CEPSWaM)

At least 3 years' experience in Scheduled Waste Management industry

Minimum 2 years as Manager/ Assistant Manager

Minimum 4 years as Executive/Senior Executive

Willingness to learn, leadership, interpersonal and communication skills
