Job summary

Astro Malaysia is seeking a Broadcast Engineer to operate, monitor, and maintain OTT, encoding/transcoding, and broadcast platform services. You will ensure the quality and availability of audio, video, transport stream, and network services, and collaborate with internal teams to resolve issues.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor in CS/IT/Eng and has 1–2 years in broadcast IT or related fields, with strong troubleshooting and willingness to work 12-hour shifts including on-call support.

Qualifications

• Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Telecommunications, Electrical & Electronics Engineering or related disciplines.
• Minimum 1–2 years of experience in Broadcast Engineering, IT Infrastructure, Networking, OTT, or related technical environments.
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
• Able to work on 12-hour rotational shifts and irregular hours when required.

Responsibilities

• Operate, monitor, and maintain OTT, media encoding/transcoding, and broadcast platform services.
• Ensure the quality and availability of audio, video, transport stream, and network services.
• Investigate system faults, perform root-cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
• Respond to incidents and service interruptions within agreed service levels.
• Perform system upgrades, patching, maintenance, and platform enhancements.
• Generate operational and performance reports and recommend service improvements.
• Maintain system documentation, operating procedures, and technical records.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders, vendors, and support teams to resolve technical issues.
• Participate in project implementation, testing, commissioning, and acceptance activities.
• Support 24x7 operational requirements, including shift work and on-call support when required.
