Job summary

Astro Malaysia, a leading entertainment company in Kuala Lumpur, seeks a Broadcast Engineer to operate and maintain OTT and broadcast services. You'll monitor media encoding, ensure service quality, and troubleshoot incidents while supporting 24x7 operations and on-call rotations.

Ideal candidates have a Bachelor's degree in a related field and 1–2 years of relevant experience, with strong analytical skills and the ability to work 12-hour shifts. AWS, SQL, and media workflows knowledge is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in CS/IT/Engineering or related field.
• 1–2 years of experience in Broadcast Engineering / IT Infrastructure / OTT.
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
• Able to work 12-hour rotational shifts and irregular hours when required.

Responsibilities

• Operate, monitor, and maintain OTT, media encoding/transcoding, and broadcast platform services.
• Ensure the quality and availability of audio, video, transport stream, and network services.
• Investigate system faults and perform root-cause analysis.
• Respond to incidents within agreed service levels and perform upgrades/maintenance.
• Generate operational and performance reports and suggest improvements.
• Maintain system documentation and procedures.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders, vendors, and support teams to resolve issues.
• Support project implementations, testing, commissioning and acceptance activities.
• Participate in 24x7 operational coverage including on-call when required.

Job Responsibilities

Requirements

Who you are:

• Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Telecommunications, Electrical & Electronics Engineering or related disciplines.
• Minimum 1–2 years of experience in Broadcast Engineering, IT Infrastructure, Networking, OTT, or related technical environments.
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
• Able to work on 12-hour rotational shifts and irregular hours when required.
