Job summary

SCGT Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. in Subang Jaya, Malaysia, is seeking an early-to-mid level Commodity Trader to manage end-to-end trading activities across Sales, Operations, Supply Chain and Logistics.

You will develop new business opportunities, build relationships with customers and suppliers, and monitor market conditions to optimize trading performance. The role requires a Bachelor's degree in a related field and a minimum of 1 year in commodity trading, with strong English skills and a willingness

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, International Business, Economics, Supply Chain, Logistics or related field.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in commodity trading or related industries (e.g., scrap, recycling, procurement) with exposure to Sales and Operations.
• Good understanding of logistics, Incoterms, trading documentation, and end-to-end trading processes.
• Proficient in Business English (spoken and written).
• Chinese language skills would be an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end commodity trading activities across Sales, Operations, Supply Chain and Logistics to ensure smooth execution and delivery.
• Develop and implement business development strategies to secure new customers and expand opportunities.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, customers and partners; identify new business opportunities and customer requirements.
• Monitor commodity market conditions and price movements to identify opportunities and risks, including competitors and potential partners.
• Coordinate with relevant teams to meet customer requirements and ensure timely execution of trading activities.
• Achieve assigned sales targets and optimize trading performance and business growth.
• Prepare regular business reports on sales performance, opportunities, and customer issues.
