Job summary

Ams Osram Malaysia is seeking an experienced Employee Relations professional to support site HR and ensure compliance with the Employment Act and IR framework.

You will conduct investigations, manage disciplinary actions, liaise with Labour Department, support union interactions, and partner with HRBPs to implement policies. Strong English and Malay communication is essential.

Qualifications

• Degree in Human Resource or equivalent.
• Min 5 years of experience in Employee Relations and Industrial Relations.
• Well versed in Employment Act 1955, Industrial Relations Act 1967 and Trade Union Act 1959.
• Human Resource Management/ Industrial Relations.
• Excellent Interpersonal and Communication Skills in both English and Malay.

Responsibilities

• Conduct end-to-end internal investigations raised by employees using internal grievance channels.
• Manage Progressive Disciplinary Action through warning letters, suspensions, show cause and dismissal letters.
• Represent Labour and Industrial Relations department for claims on unfair dismissal by employees.
• Liaise with site HR Business Partners for Mutual Separation Scheme preparation and delivery.
• Facilitate Supervisory Engagement Sessions on HR policies and procedures for all People Managers quarterly.
• Partner with ER leader to manage Union interventions and mitigate third party risk.
• Act as single point of contact in managing Joint Working Council functions and activities.
• Represent ER for annual audits (RBA, customer, ITTF) through sharing ER policies and procedures.

Central Functions support the board as well as the business in achieving its strategic objectives. These are, for example, Information Technology, Human Resources, Logistics, Compliance, Finance and many more.

• Conducting end to end internal investigation that are raised by employees using internal grievance mechanism channels.
