Job summary

Ams Osram in Bayan Lepas (Penang) seeks an experienced Employee Relations professional to handle investigations, disciplinary actions, and ER representation in industrial relations matters.

You will work with HR Business Partners to coordinate Mutual Separation Scheme, support supervisory sessions, and assist in union-related strategies to ensure site compliance.

Qualifications

• Degree in Human Resources or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years in Employee Relations/Industrial Relations.
• Strong knowledge of Employment Act 1955, Industrial Relations Act 1967, Trade Union Act 1959.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in English and Malay.

Responsibilities

• Conduct end-to-end internal investigations raised via grievance channels.
• Manage progressive disciplinary actions including warnings, suspensions, and dismissal letters.
• Represent ER in dealings with Labour and Industrial Relations department for unfair dismissal claims.
• Liaise with site HR Business Partners for Mutual Separation Scheme preparations and delivery.
• Facilitate supervisory engagement sessions on HR policies for all People Managers quarterly.
• Partner with site ER leader on union-related strategies to mitigate third party presence risks.
• Serve as single point of contact for Joint Working Council activities.
• Represent ER for annual RBA, customer and ITTF audits with ER policy/ procedures.

Central Functions support the board as well as the business in achieving its strategic objectives. These are, for example, Information Technology, Human Resources, Logistics, Compliance, Finance and many more.

• Conducting end to end internal investigation that are raised by employees using internal grievance mechanism channels.
• Manage Progressive Disciplinary Action through issuance of warning letters, suspension, show cause and dismissal letters.
• Representation to Labor and Industrial Relations department for any claims on unfair dismissal by employees.
• Liaison with site HR Business Partners for preparation and delivery of Mutual Separation Scheme for selected employees.
• Facilitate Supervisory Engagement Session on HR policies and procedures on quarterly basis for all People Managers in the company.
• Partering site ER leader in managing Union intervention by preparing strategy to mitigate risk of third party presence in the company.
• Single point of contact in managing overall functions and activities of Joint Working Council.
• Represent ER for annual RBA, customer and ITTF audits through sharing of ER policies and procedures.

• Degree in Human Resource or equivalent.
• Min 5 years of experience in field of Employee Relations and Industrial Relations. Well verse in Employment Act 1955, Industrial Relations Act 1967 and Trade Union Act 1959.
• Human Resource Management/ Industrial Relations.
• Excellent Interpersonal and Communication Skills in both English and Malay.
