Job summary

Sunway Medical Centre Sdn Bhd is seeking a dedicated Healthcare Assistant to join the Emergency Department (A&E). You will support patients with basic care needs, assist nurses and medical staff, and help maintain a safe, clean patient environment in a fast-paced ED.

Ideal candidates will have experience in healthcare or customer service, strong communication skills, and be capable of working rotating shifts in a 24-hour emergency setting.

Qualifications

• Experience in healthcare, hospital, patient care, hospitality, or customer service will be an added advantage.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Caring, patient, responsible, and service-oriented.
• Able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Physically fit and able to assist with patient mobility and transfers.
• Able to work well as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Willing to work in a 24-hour Emergency Department environment and perform rotating shifts.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with basic care needs, mobility, transfers, and activities.
• Support nurses and medical staff in patient care.
• Prepare patients for examinations, procedures, and consultations.
• Transport and accompany patients to departments, wards, or diagnostics.
• Prepare, clean, and maintain patient care areas and equipment.
• Ensure hygiene, infection prevention, cleanliness, and safety standards.
• Assist patients and visitors and provide directions.
• Assist with registration, documentation, and basic admin duties.
• Respond promptly to patients' needs and escalate as needed.
• Support ED team during busy periods and emergencies.
• Maintain patient privacy and dignity.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
