Job summary

Quectel Wireless Solutions Penang Sdn. Bhd. is seeking an Electronics Engineer to design hardware for 2G/3G/4G/5G cellular modules and PCBA projects. You will handle schematics, PCB design, debugging and documentation while supporting customers and internal teams.

The role requires familiarity with analog and digital circuits, HW testing and component knowledge. Proficiency in English and Mandarin is essential for effective communication with stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronics/Communication/Microwave or equivalent with related knowledge of Principle of Communication & Technology.
• At least 1 year design experience of 2G/3G/4G/5G/GPS module wireless communication products or related electronic products.
• Familiar with various electronic components, familiar with related test instruments.
• Familiar with analog, digital circuit and other basic knowledge, SCM related hardware and software design experience is preferred.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in both English & Mandarin to effectively communicate with Mandarin-speaking customers and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Design hardware for 2G/3G/4G/5G cellular modules and PCBA projects (schematics/PCB).
• Evaluate and certify HW components for modules and PCBA.
• Perform HW testing and develop evaluation boards.
• Provide reference designs to customers for cellular modules.
• Support customers and internal teams in hardware issue resolution.
• Improve hardware yield and reliability; reduce costs.
• Assist production line hardware issue resolution.

Job responsibilities:

Responsible for 2G/3G/4G/5G cellular modules and PCBA project hardware design such as Schematics and PCB design, debugging and problem solving, all kinds of HW document writing.

Do the HW components evaluation, selection and certification for cellular modules and PCBA project.

Responsible for R&D testing for cellular modules and PCBA project, and related evaluation board.

Provide reliable HW design solutions (reference design) to customers for cellular modules.

Support and resolve hardware issues encountered by customers during the design or application of their products.

Support and resolve hardware issues on the production line. Analyze and improve hardware defects of mass-produced products to enhance product yield and reliability, and reduce costs.

Support the internal department (FAE/AE/SW etc.) teams in resolving hardware issues.

Other tasks assigned by team lead from time to time.
