Job summary

Quectel Wireless Solutions Penang Sdn. Bhd. seeks a Field Applications Engineer to provide technical support across 5G, LTE, and legacy wireless technologies.

You will train customers on Quectel modules and tools, present technical solutions, and develop demo apps to accelerate integration. Applicants should have 3+ years in embedded design or firmware, strong C/C++, Python, Linux/Android knowledge, and willingness to travel locally.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Electronic Engineering, Computer, Automation, Electronics & Communications, or IT-related fields.
• 3+ years experience in embedded product design or Firmware development in electronics.
• Good knowledge of GSM/GPRS/EDGE/UMTS/LTE/TCP/IP/GPS specifications.
• Good knowledge of C/C++, Linux, and Android specifications/standards is a plus.
• Experience in development of peripheral drivers and debugging (USB, UART, I2C, I2S, SPI, SDIO, EMMC, PWM, Camera, LCD) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support for Quectel's product line including 5G, LTE/LTE-A, UMTS/HSPA, GSM/GPRS.
• Provide Pre-Sales and Post-Sales technical support and customer training on Quectel modules and tools.
• Travel for on-site support across local market.
• Give product presentations and conduct training for customers on-site.
• Develop simple demonstration applications to help customers evaluate Quectel modules.
• Prepare Weekly Technical Reports on support activity and open issues.

Job Responsibilities

• Provide technical support for Quectel's entire product line, including 5G, LTE/LTE-A, UMTS/HSPA, GSM/GPRS, and other wireless technologies.
• Provide Pre-Sales and Post-Sales technical support and customer training on Quectel wireless modules and development tools.
• Provide swift responses to customer technical inquiries, being prepared to travel for on-site support across local market.
• Be able to give product presentations and conduct product and tool training for customers on-site.
• Provide tangible feedback and feasible Quectel solutions to customers, based on their application requirements.
• Develop simple demonstration applications to help customers evaluate and integrate Quectel modules quicker and more effectively.
• Prepare Weekly Technical Reports indicating the support activity and open issue progress.
• Experienced in embedded Linux, Android systems, or other OSs.
• Experienced in 2G, 3G, NBIoT, CatM, LTE RF/Antenna design, tuning, or testing.
• Experienced in module certificates, e.g. RCM or carrier’s approval process.
• Familiar with LTE/UMTS/HSPA/GSM/GPRS/GPS Wireless M2M Modules.
• Proficient C/C++, Perl, Python, and Shell programming Skills.
• Knowledge of Wireless networks, mobile phone or wireless modem technologies including Bluetooth, WIFI, Zigbee, etc.
• Familiar with ARM microcontrollers architecture.

Job Requirements

• Creative problem solver possessing good analytical and troubleshooting skills, able to manage and swiftly resolve all technical issues, delivering the highest quality services to Quectel customers.
• Be self-motivated, able to work independently with a strong sense of responsibility and a predisposition for teamwork. Be a positive thinker andeasily get along with others.
• Must be able and willing to travel.
