Job summary

EPITOME DESIGN STUDIO SDN. BHD. based in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, is seeking a skilled Electrician to join our full-time team.

You will install, maintain and repair electrical systems across design and construction projects, ensuring safety, regulatory compliance, and high-quality workmanship. The ideal candidate holds a valid Malaysia Electrician certification, has 3–5 years’ experience in commercial, residential, or industrial settings, and can read blueprints and use testing equipment.

Qualifications

• Valid Electrician certification recognised in Malaysia.
• 3–5 years of experience as an Electrician in commercial, residential or industrial settings.
• Proficient reading of electrical blueprints, drawings and wiring diagrams.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Knowledge of safety standards and compliance protocols.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain and repair electrical systems, wiring and equipment per blueprints and codes.
• Troubleshoot electrical faults and diagnose issues for repair or replacement.
• Conduct safety inspections to ensure regulatory compliance and safety.
• Test circuits and equipment to verify functionality and safety.
• Coordinate with managers and contractors on schedules and site needs.
• Keep accurate records of work, materials and time spent.
• Maintain clean, safe work areas and proper disposal of waste materials.
• Follow health, safety and environmental protocols at all times.
• Provide technical advice and recommendations to clients on installations.
• Participate in ongoing training to stay current with industry standards.

About the role

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Electrician to join our team on a full-time basis in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. This is a pivotal position within our organisation, where you will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful completion of our electrical installations and maintenance works across various design and construction projects. As an Electrician, you will be responsible for delivering safe, compliant, and high-quality electrical solutions that meet both regulatory standards and our clients' expectations. Your expertise will directly contribute to the success of our projects and the satisfaction of our clients.

Key responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems, wiring, and equipment in accordance with blueprints, technical specifications, and building codes
• Perform electrical troubleshooting and diagnostics to identify faults, defects, and areas requiring repair or replacement
• Conduct safety inspections of electrical installations and systems to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards
• Test electrical circuits, equipment, and systems using appropriate tools and equipment to verify functionality and safety
• Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and other team members to coordinate electrical work schedules and site requirements
• Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and time spent on each project
• Ensure all work areas are kept clean and organised, with proper disposal of waste materials and electrical components
• Adhere to health and safety protocols and site-specific safety procedures at all times
• Provide technical advice and recommendations to clients regarding electrical installations and upgrades
• Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay current with industry standards and best practices

What we’re looking for

• Valid Electrician certification or equivalent professional qualification recognised in Malaysia
• Proven experience of at least 3-5 years working as an Electrician in commercial, residential, or industrial settings
• In-depth knowledge of electrical codes, regulations, and safety standards applicable in Malaysia
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical blueprints, technical drawings, and wiring diagrams
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex electrical issues
• Competence in using a range of electrical tools and testing equipment safely and effectively
• Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to delivering work of the highest quality
• Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
• Physical fitness and the ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and in various weather conditions
• A strong commitment to health, safety, and environmental protocols
• Valid driver's licence and ability to travel to different project sites as required
• Preferred: Experience in design and construction projects, familiarity with modern electrical technologies, or additional certifications in specialised electrical work
