Job summary

CS E&I Engineering Sdn Bhd is seeking an Electrical Technician Chargeman to oversee electrical installation, testing, and commissioning at sites across Malaysia. You will ensure safety, manage PTW/LOTO, and coordinate with engineers and clients while maintaining documentation and punch lists.

Diploma holders with data centre experience who can travel to multiple sites are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• Diploma or equivalent, data centre experience.
• Strong electrical & mechanical troubleshooting knowledge.
• Proficient in Excel/Word/PowerPoint; AutoCAD a plus.
• Detail-oriented, resourceful, able to work independently under pressure; open to multi-site travel.

Responsibilities

• Oversee electrical installation, testing, commissioning, inspection, and maintenance works at site.
• Carry out cable pulling, termination, gland installation, continuity and insulation-resistance testing.
• Execute preventive and corrective maintenance for electrical systems, panels, equipment, and accessories.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and rectify electrical faults promptly to minimize disruption.
• Act as an Authorized Officer (AO) to isolate, energise, de-energise, and verify electrical systems safely.
• Implement and manage PTW and LOTO procedures before work commences.
• Ensure all work complies with drawings, specs, safety regulations, and company procedures.
• Conduct site inspections, toolbox briefings, risk assessments, and job safety analyses.
• Coordinate with engineers, supervisors, clients, and subcontractors on site activities and progress.
• Assist in inspection, testing, commissioning, and handover activities, including resolving punch-list items.
• Maintain accurate test reports, inspection checklists, permits, maintenance records, and as-built docs.
• Report unsafe conditions, defects, incidents, and near misses promptly.
• Maintain good housekeeping and a safe, organised work area at all times.
• Attend to emergency electrical breakdowns and support urgent site requirements when required.

Key responsibilities

As an Electrical Technician Chargeman, you will play a critical role in overseeing electrical installation, maintenance, and repair operations.

What we're looking for

Perform electrical installation, testing, commissioning, inspection, and maintenance works at site.

Carry out cable pulling, termination, gland installation, continuity and insulation-resistance testing.

Execute preventive and corrective maintenance for electrical systems, panels, equipment, and associated accessories.

Troubleshoot, diagnose, and rectify electrical faults promptly to minimize disruption.
