Job summary

CS E&I Engineering Sdn Bhd seeks an Electrical Technician Chargeman to oversee electrical installation, testing, and maintenance at site, ensuring safe operations across multi-site projects.

You will execute cable pulling, testing, and electrical fault rectifications while adhering to PTW/LOTO procedures. The role requires close coordination with engineers and clients and may involve travel to multiple sites within Malaysia.

Qualifications

• Diploma or equivalent with data centre experience.
• Strong electrical & mechanical troubleshooting knowledge.
• Proficient in Excel/Word/PowerPoint; AutoCAD a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform electrical installation, testing, commissioning, inspection, and maintenance works at site.
• Carry out cable pulling, termination, gland installation, continuity and insulation-resistance testing.
• Execute preventive and corrective maintenance for electrical systems, panels, equipment, and associated accessories.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and rectify electrical faults promptly to minimize disruption.
• Act as an Authorized Officer (AO) within the approved scope of authority to isolate, energise, de-energise, and verify electrical systems safely.
• Implement and manage Permit-to-Work (PTW) and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures before work commences.
• Ensure all work complies with approved drawings, specifications, statutory requirements, safety regulations, and company procedures.
• Conduct site inspections, toolbox briefings, risk assessments, and job safety analyses before work execution.
• Coordinate with engineers, supervisors, clients, and subcontractors on site activities and work progress.
• Assist in inspection, testing, commissioning, and handover activities, including resolving punch-list items.
• Maintain accurate test reports, inspection checklists, permits, maintenance records, and as-built documentation.
• Report unsafe conditions, defects, incidents, and near misses promptly.
• Maintain good housekeeping and ensure a safe, organised work area at all times.
• Attend to emergency electrical breakdowns and support urgent site requirements when required.
