Job summary

MALAYSIA STEEL WORKS (KL) BHD invites applications for an Electrical Technician to assemble, install, test and maintain electrical wiring and systems. The role covers wiring connections to breakers and transformers, inspection for hazards, and ongoing maintenance of drives and motor controls.

The candidate should read electrical diagrams, understand machine manuals, and be willing to work shifts and overtime, including weekends and public holidays.

Qualifications

• Candidate should have a Diploma or Certificate in Electrical Technology / Electrical Installation / Electrical Engineering.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical and electronic wiring.
• Connect wires to circuit breakers, a transformer, or other electrical equipment.
• Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components for hazards, defects, and repairs as per standards.
• Test electrical systems using multi tester, megohm meter, and clamp ammeter.
• Maintain AC and DC drives, PLC, and other motor controls.
• Assist the shift supervisor in daily work shifts and execute planned preventive maintenance.

Job description

Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical and electronic wiring

Connect wires to circuit breakers, a transformer, or other electrical equipment

Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify potential hazards, defects, and any need for adjustments or repairs to ensure compliance with the workshop standards

Test electrical systems using multi multi-tester, a mega ohm meter, and a clamp ammeter

Maintenance of AC and DC drives, PLC, and other motor controls

To assist the shift supervisor in carrying out the daily work shift

To execute the service, maintenance, and repair work according to the planned preventive maintenance schedule

Motor control wiring and troubleshooting, such as cranes, conveyors, etc

Requirements

Candidate must pass SPM or equivalent

Diploma or Certificate in Electrical Technology / Electrical Installation / Electrical Engineering from a recognized institution (Politeknik, Kolej Komuniti, Institut Latihan Perindustrian (ILP), Institut Kemahiran MARA (IKM), Pusat Latihan Teknologi Tinggi (ADTEC), and others recognized by the Malaysian Government

Good knowledge of basic operations in AC and DC

Minimum 2 years of working experience in the manufacturing industry will be an advantage. Fresh graduates are welcome to apply

Ability to read electrical diagrams and understand the machine manual

Must be willing to work shift hours and overtime, including weekends and public holidays

Possess own transport and accommodation to work in Bukit Raja, Klang
