Job summary

PRESS METAL ALUMINIUM HOLDINGS BERHAD is seeking an Electrical Technician in Malaysia. The role supports power distribution maintenance, including 11 kV panel work, rectifier inspections, and routine testing to minimize downtime.

Fresh graduates or candidates with up to 1 year of experience are welcome, with priority for those holding a Chargeman or Wireman certificate. Applicants should have basic single- and three-phase wiring knowledge, good health, and be proactive, team-oriented, and ready

Qualifications

• Diploma in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Fresh graduate or minimum 1 year of working experience in Technician position.
• Certificate in Chargeman or Wireman is an additional advantage.
• Good health condition.
• Have basic knowledge and experience in single-phase and three-phase wiring.
• Proactive and able to work in a team.

Responsibilities

• Possess a basic understanding of power distribution processes and principles.
• Perform preventive, predictive, and routine maintenance for all equipment to minimize downtime and maintain optimal condition.
• Increase equipment utilization through maintenance of High-Voltage equipment, machinery, and tools as necessary.
• Assist the Power Distribution Engineer in reviewing daily operation, maintenance, and breakdown reports, reporting variance causes, and implementing necessary actions.
• Perform 11 kV panel maintenance, ensuring all procedures strictly comply with SOP while conducting physical checks to verify equipment conditions.
• Perform rectifying group inspections at rectifier transformers, rectifier rooms, and auxiliary substations, consistently adhering to SOP requirements.
• Inspections include checking silica gel discoloration in rectifiers and transformers.
• Inspect cabinet integrity and abnormal sounds in rectifier rooms and record temperature readings for dry transformers by phase.
• Execute Switching Programs, utilizing appropriate voltage detectors to confirm the absence of supply according to voltage level requirements.
