Job summary

Kelington Group Berhad in Johor, Malaysia is seeking a disciplined Project Engineer (Electrical) to plan, coordinate and monitor site activities ensuring timely project completion. The role requires reviewing drawings, coordinating with consultants and contractors, and ensuring compliance with specifications.

You will supervise electrical construction, manage documentation, and liaise with internal teams and clients to resolve technical issues and achieve smooth project handover.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering or a relevant engineering discipline.
• 1-4 years relevant experience in project engineering, site engineering, or electrical construction is preferred.
• Good knowledge of engineering drawings, electrical systems, construction methods, specifications, and site practices.
• Strong project coordination, planning, site supervision, and technical problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with consultants, contractors, suppliers, and internal teams.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; knowledge of AutoCAD.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and monitor project engineering and site activities to ensure timely completion.
• Review drawings, specifications, method statements, and technical submissions to ensure proper site execution.
• Supervise and monitor construction and installation work to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and project requirements.
• Coordinate with consultants, contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure smooth project execution.
• Monitor site progress, workmanship, materials, equipment, and work sequences to maintain project quality and schedule.
• Identify and resolve technical and site-related issues in coordination with relevant engineering and project teams.
• Coordinate inspections, testing, pre-commissioning, commissioning, and rectification works to ensure systems are ready for operation and handover.
• Coordinate with Engineering, BIM, QA/QC, and other disciplines to resolve technical, quality, and interface issues.
• Prepare and maintain project documentation, progress reports, inspection records, technical submissions, RFIs, and as-built documentation.
• Liaise with clients, consultants, authorities, contractors, and other stakeholders to facilitate approvals and resolve project matters.
• Ensure all project and site activities comply with relevant engineering standards, safety requirements, approved procedures, and project specifications.
