Job summary

TAKAT ENERGY SDN BHD is seeking a versatile Mechanical & Electrical Drafter to create detailed 2D and 3D drawings for oil & gas skid packages, piping, and electrical/control panels.

You will coordinate with project engineers, update drawings per client comments and HAZOP findings, and compile MDRs. Diploma or certs in drafting with 1 year of O&G experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Diploma or certificate in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or drafting.
• About 1 year of drafting experience in Oil & Gas or heavy process packaging.
• Expert in AutoCAD 2D (Mechanical & Electrical toolsets).
• Proficiency with 3D CAD tools such as AutoCAD Plant 3D, SolidWorks, STP, or Autodesk Inventor.
• Understanding of P&IDs, piping isometrics, welding symbols, and fabrication standards.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed 2D/3D fabrication and assembly drawings for skid frames and layouts.
• Develop piping layouts, spool drawings, isometrics with BOM and P&IDs.
• Generate electrical SLDs, schematic/wiring diagrams, and panel diagrams.
• Produce skid-mounted cable tray routing drawings and junction box layouts.
• Check interfaces to avoid clashes and coordinate with engineers for client comments.
• Compile As-Built drawings and MDR documentation.

Job description

We are seeking a versatile and detail-oriented Mechanical & Electrical Drafter to join our engineering team. You will be responsible for preparing comprehensive 2D and 3D design deliverables for custom oil & gas skids, piping and electrical/control panels.

Key responsibilities

Prepare detailed 2D/3D fabrication and assembly drawings for structural skid frames, equipment layouts, and lifting arrangements

Develop piping layouts, piping spool drawings, isometric drawings with BOM, and update Process & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs)

Generate electrical Single Line Diagrams (SLD), schematic/wiring diagrams, and panel diagrams

Produce skid-mounted cable tray routing drawings, junction box layouts, instrument hook-ups, and earthing network details

Check mechanical and electrical interfaces to eliminate clashes between piping, structural steel, cable trays, and instruments

Coordinate with project engineers to update drawings based on client comments, HAZOP findings, and vendor equipment cut sheets

Compile As-Built drawing packages and complete Manufacturing Data Records (MDR)

About you

Diploma or Certificate in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering, Drafting, or equivalent

1 year of drafting experience specifically within the Oil & Gas or heavy process packaging industry (skid packages, skids, or panel shops)

Expert in AutoCAD 2D (Mechanical & Electrical toolsets)

Proficient in 3D CAD modeling software (e.g., AutoCAD Plant 3D, SolidWorks, STP, or Autodesk Inventor)

Understanding of P&IDs, piping isometrics, welding symbols, and structural fabrication standards
