Job summary

Airswift is seeking a Lead Electrical Engineer to drive EPCC detailed design for offshore oil/gas facilities in Malaysia. You will manage electrical design basis, philosophies, specifications, studies and drawings, ensuring compliance with client specs, codes and regulatory requirements.

You will coordinate interfaces with process, utilities, marine, ICSS, telecom and construction teams to deliver safe and reliable systems.

Qualifications

• Ten years of relevant experience in offshore electrical engineering and project execution.
• Experience as Electrical Lead Engineer or discipline lead in EPCC detailed design.
• FPSO project experience preferred.
• Experience managing electrical interfaces with EPC contractors, yards, vendors, and classific. societies.

Job description

Lead Electrical Engineering execution for EPCC detailed design. Provide electrical technical support to procurement, construction, fabrication, pre-commissioning, commissioning, operation, start-up and handover activities. Establish and manage electrical design basis, philosophies, specifications, studies, calculations, drawings and other key engineering deliverables. Ensure electrical engineering deliverables comply with project requirements, client specifications, classification society rules, international codes, regulatory requirements and operational needs. Manage electrical system design covering power generation, power distribution, protection, UPS/DC systems, hazardous area requirements, lighting, earthing and electrical equipment sizing. Coordinate electrical interfaces with process, utilities, marine, ICSS, telecom, mechanical, piping, structural, safety, construction and operations disciplines. Review and approve contractor, vendor and package engineering deliverables related to electrical systems and equipment. Lead technical clarification, technical bid evaluation, vendor follow-up and resolution of electrical engineering issues throughout the EPCC cycle. Manage electrical engineering schedule, deliverable quality, progress, manhours and close-out of engineering actions. Support design reviews, risk assessments, value engineering, change management and implementation of approved technical recommendations.

Experience

• At least ten (10) years of relevant experience in project planning, supervision and design work associated with offshore oil/gas production and processing facilities or other branch of engineering as appropriate.
• Experience as Electrical Lead Engineer or equivalent discipline lead role in EPCC detailed design project is preferred.
• Have at least three (3) FPSO project experience.
• Practical experience in managing electrical design interfaces with EPC contractors, fabrication yards, package vendors, classification societies, client representatives and site teams.

Qualifications

• Possesses recognized B.Sc. or B.E. degree in a relevant branch of engineering or equivalent (Electrical, Electronics or other related engineering discipline).
• Registered with Board of Engineers Malaysia, minimum as Graduate Engineer or other recognized professional body i.e. UK Council.
• Preference: Professional Engineer with Practicing Certificate / Registered with recognized professional body.
