Job summary

Eaton is seeking a Service Engineer in Malaysia, Selangor, to provide after-sales technical and services support for transformers, MV switchgear, RMU, and ACB equipment. You will assist in installation, testing, commissioning, maintenance, and fault resolution, with 24x7 standby coverage on a rotating schedule.

The role requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering and at least 3 years of field service experience, along with strong communication skills and a customer-focused mindset.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 3 years of field experience in service or testing.
• Understanding of selling techniques and Eaton’s capabilities.
• Possess knowledge of products, markets channels and associated applications.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical and administrative support across installation, testing, commissioning, repair, and preventive maintenance.
• Maintain records and coordinate with design management to resolve technical problems.
• Own service contracts and interface with customer organization to drive additional sales.
• Maintain strong customer relationships to deliver high-quality service.
• Respond to technical service inquiries in a timely, professional manner.
• Identify startup faults and implement corrective actions.
• Provide on-the-job training for customer personnel or dealers.
• Represent Eaton in customer support, ensuring customer satisfaction.
• Prepare daily logs and reports; manage workflow documents.
• Analyze equipment status and advise replacement schedules with customers.
• Analyze complex engineering problems and propose resolutions.
• Interact with engineering, project engineers, and clients.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Sales, and Product teams.
• Commit to Quality Management System: implement risk-based thinking and sustain QMS.
