Job summary

Sinar Tenaga M&E Sdn Bhd in Selangor seeks a skilled Design Engineer to carry out and complete projects in Electrical, Instrumentation, or Building Services (MEP). You will join a project-driven team to support tasks from documentation to supplier coordination.

You will work with senior staff to mentor new engineers, ensuring adherence to SOPs, and delivering on project milestones. Strong CAD proficiency and MS Office experience are essential.

Qualifications

• Tertiary education in Electrical Engineering or equivalent, or 10+ years of related experience.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Office tools.
• Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD).
• Proficiency in Navisworks Freedom software.
• Strong understanding of engineering principles and project milestones.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Assist managers in coordinating and implementing project tasks.
• Prepare and maintain project documentation including catalogs, material submissions, cable lists, shop drawings, and technical specs.
• Attend meetings with stakeholders to ensure project alignment.
• Coordinate with drafters, suppliers, clients, authorities, and contractors.
• Perform material planning and procurement activities and ensure timely delivery of materials.
• Ensure submission of documents and drawings to consultants and clients for review and approval.
• Provide technical support to project teams and mentorjunior engineers.

Sinar Tenaga M&E Sdn Bhd is looking for a skilled Design Engineer to carry out and complete projects in Electrical, Instrumentation, or Building Services (MEP).

As we constantly have projects & system integrations lined up, we want you to join our team as a Design Engineer in Selangor.

What Does Our Team Do?

• Assist managers in coordinating and implementing project tasks.
• Work in accordance with the company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Prepare and maintain comprehensive project documentation, including:
  • Catalogues and material submissions.
  • Cable lists and termination diagrams.
  • Shop drawings and technical specifications.
• Attend and actively participate in meetings and discussions with stakeholders to ensure project alignment.
• Coordinate with drafters, suppliers, clients, local authorities, and contractors to meet project requirements.
• Perform material planning and procurement activities, including:
  • Taking off project quantities.
  • Requesting quotations from suppliers/vendors.Ensuring timely delivery of materials to meet project schedules.
• Ensure that all project-related documents and drawings are submitted to consultants and clients for review and approval.
• Ensure timely submission of technical documents and shop drawings as per project schedules.
• Coordinate with relevant stakeholders to address any feedback or revisions required during the approval process.
• Maintain a comprehensive record of all submitted and approved documents and drawings for future reference and compliance purposes.
• Provide technical support and guidance to project teams throughout the project lifecycle.
• Senior Project Engineer act as a mentor for newly joined engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development.
• Perform all other duties, activities, and responsibilities as assigned by superiors, as necessary.

Do You Have What It Takes?

• Tertiary education in Electrical Engineering or relevant discipline or 10 years and above of related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Hands‑on experience with Microsoft Office (e.g., MS Office, MS Excel, etc.).
• Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD).
• Proficiency in Navisworks Freedom software
• Strong understanding of engineering principles and construction milestones.
• Excellent problem‑solving and analytical skills.
• Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
