Job summary

M8M Pte Ltd in Penang is seeking a skilled Electrical/Mechatronic engineer to design and manage automation equipment panels. You will prepare schematic designs, site installation layouts, and technical documents, coordinating with consultants, contractors, and suppliers throughout the project lifecycle.

You will generate BOMs, support factory acceptance tests, and ensure designs are manufacturable by collaborating with mechanical, software, and production teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Diploma in Electrical, Electronic, or Mechatronic Engineering.
• 3–5 years hands-on experience in electrical hardware, control systems, or automation design.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical.

Responsibilities

• Prepare schematic design, site installation layout, calculations, technical reports and specifications for automation equipment panels.
• Liaise with external consultant teams, contractors and suppliers to resolve project electrical design issues.
• Generate BOM and RFQ documents.
• Communicate with contractors for panel fabrication.

Job description

Design and manage automation equipment panels, including schematic design, site installation layout, calculations, technical reports and specifications. Liaise with external consultant teams, contractors and suppliers to resolve project electrical design issues, and provide support throughout the project lifecycle from factory acceptance testing to site installation.

About you

Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Electrical, Electronic, or Mechatronic Engineering

Minimum of 3 to 5 years of hands-on working experience in electrical hardware, control systems, or automation design

Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical

Familiarity with 3D CAD (e.g., SolidWorks) or EPLAN is a plus

Basic understanding of industrial control panels, power distribution, and low-voltage electrical systems

Ability to collaborate across teams (mechanical, software, and production) to ensure designs are manufacturable

Cantonese, Mandarin, English. We are seeking candidates proficient in Mandarin/Cantonese to effectively communicate with Mandarin/Cantonese-speaking clients.
