Job summary

Randstad Malaysia partners with a premier multinational innovator in precision automation equipment and high‑tech manufacturing solutions. The Senior Electrical Engineer will drive electrical architecture, wiring, BOMs, and integration for standard and non‑standard automation equipment.

This role offers international exposure across Taiwan, China and other regions, with Mandarin and English fluency required and mobility up to six months per year.

Qualifications

• Education as stated: Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation or related field (or Diploma with rich relevant experience).
• Minimum 5+ years of hands-on electrical design experience in standard or non-standard automation machinery.
• Proven experience with PLCs/controllers and full-closed-loop control; sensors and motors knowledge.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD for circuit design and cabinet layout.
• Industry background in Equipment Manufacturing, E&E, or Industrial Automation.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical architecture design, component selection, schematics drafting, and BOM generation.
• Execute first-unit wiring, cabinet layout design, and electrical setup with Mechanical Engineers.
• Oversee system integration and support software during motion control and debugging.
• Conduct technical training for after‑sales teams on wiring and fault diagnosis.
• Prepare technical documents including circuit designs, SOPs, WI, and maintenance guides.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead electrical architecture design, component selection, schematics drafting, and BOM generation for standard/non-standard automation equipment.
• Execute first-unit wiring, cabinet layout design, and electrical setup in close collaboration with Mechanical Engineers.
• Oversee system integration and support software engineers during motion control and machine debugging.
• Conduct technical training for after-sales engineering teams on wiring schematics, troubleshooting, and fault diagnosis.
• Prepare clear technical documentation including Circuit Designs (AutoCAD), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Work Instructions (WIs), and maintenance guides.

Candidate Requirements

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation, or a related field (or Diploma with rich relevant experience).
• Experience: Minimum 5+ years of hands-on electrical design experience in standard or non-standard automation machinery.
• Technical Domain:
  • Proven experience with PLC/controllers (e.g., Omron, HuiChuan, Beckhoff, or Leadshine control cards).
  • Sound knowledge of full-closed-loop control, sensors, and linear/servo motors.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD for circuit design, electrical cabinet layout, and component selection.
• Industry Background: Strong preference for candidates from Equipment Manufacturing, Electrical & Electronics (E&E), or Industrial Automation sectors.
• Language Proficiency: Professional fluency in Mandarin (spoken and written) is required to facilitate daily technical communication and project alignment with global HQ engineering managers and technical leads. Proficiency in English is also required.
• Mobility: Must be open to spending up to 6 months per year on international project assignments (e.g., Taiwan, China) and traveling for initial HQ onboarding in Beijing.
