IOB Technology Sdn Bhd seeks an Electrical Design Engineer to conceptualize and develop electrical panels and systems compliant with client specifications and standards. You will prepare SLDs, schematic drawings, BOMs, and engineering calculations, while supporting project teams with technical clarifications.

Work includes site visits, design optimization, and collaboration across Production, Procurement, Sales, Quality, and Site teams to ensure successful project delivery.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Registered as Graduate Engineer with BEM or in process.
• Fresh graduates encouraged; 1–3 years’ experience advantageous.
• Able to read and interpret electrical drawings and specs.

The Electrical Design Engineer is responsible for the conceptualization, design, and preparation of technical documentation for electrical panels and electrical systems. This includes developing Single Line Diagrams (SLDs), conceptual and schematic drawings, engineering calculations, Bills of Materials (BOM), Method Statements, and other design deliverables.

The role ensures that all electrical designs comply with client specifications, applicable standards and regulations, and the company's Quality Management System (QMS). The Electrical Design Engineer also collaborates closely with cross-functional teams to deliver practical, safe, and cost-effective engineering solutions while supporting project execution and continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Electrical Design

Prepare engineering documents including Single Line Diagrams (SLDs), schematic drawings, Bills of Materials (BOM), engineering calculations, Method Statements, and technical reports.

Design electrical panels and systems in accordance with project requirements, client specifications, and applicable standards.

Prepare and update design schedules, gather design inputs, and conduct site visits when required.

Provide technical support and design clarification to project teams, clients, and suppliers.

Identify opportunities to improve designs, reduce costs, and enhance product quality and performance.

Support standardization and continuous improvement initiatives.

Site Support

Attend site visits for surveys, installation support, testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning when required.

Assist in resolving technical issues and prepare site reports where necessary.

Compliance & Documentation

Ensure designs comply with client requirements, relevant Malaysian and international standards, and company Quality Management System (QMS) procedures.

Maintain accurate engineering documents, drawing revisions, and document control.

Work closely with Project, Production, Procurement, Sales, Quality, and Site teams to ensure successful project delivery.

Participate in technical discussions, design reviews, and client meetings when required.

Core Competencies

Good understanding of electrical engineering principles, power distribution systems, electrical panels, and control systems.

Proficient in AutoCAD (or equivalent CAD software) and Microsoft Office. Knowledge of EPLAN or AutoCAD Electrical is an advantage.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, planning, and organizational skills.

Good communication and teamwork skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet project deadlines.

Qualifications & Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.

Registered as a Graduate Engineer with the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM), or in the process of obtaining registration.

Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply. Candidates with 1-3 years of experience in electrical design, panel manufacturing, industrial automation, or power distribution will have an added advantage.

Able to read and interpret electrical drawings, specifications, and technical documents.

Knowledge of Malaysian electrical standards and regulations is an advantage.

Possess a valid Class D driving license and be willing to travel to project sites when required.

Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work independently as well as in a team.
