Electrical and Instrumentation Technician
Position : E&I Technician

Position: E&I Technician
Duration: 6 months contract (Renewable based on candidate performance and client's project)
Basic salary: RM2300
Allowances: Transportation RM200 & Meal RM120
Working days: 4 days work, 1 day Off, 1 Rest day (4-2)
Working hours: 7am/pm - 7pm/am (11 hours of work + 1 hour OT)
- Off day & Rest day (First 11 hour is 1.5 rate/hour, After 11 hours is 2.0 rate/hour)
- Public Holiday (First 11 hour is 2.0 rate/hour, After 11 hour is 3.0 rate/hour)
- Sunday (First 11 hour is 1.5 rate/hour, After 11 hour is 1.5 rate/hour)
Responsibilities:
- 1. Direct and perform electrical, instrumentation and/or automation maintenance repairs including electrical, electronic, hydraulic, PLC troubleshooting and pneumatic troubleshooting and repair of all site equipment.
- 2. Maximizing equipment availability across the site, through minimizing breakdown time and PM work completion.
- 3. Provide technical support for equipment installations and repairs.
- 4. Ensure that PMs are completed in a timely and safe manner.
- 5. Maintain all site drawings ensuring that all modifications are captures and the relevant drawings, procedures are revised.
- 6. Make recommendations to improve maintenance and production operations within the E & I perspective.
- 7. To prepare work related to configuration changes on production machines.
- 8. To write a report on work done and to assist production operators regarding machinery operations.
- 9. Participate in continuous improvement programs.
- 10. Apply company rules, respect and apply safety rules.
Qualifications:
- 1. Certificate of Diploma in Electrical and Instrument Engineering. AO Chargeman Certificate would be an added advantage.
- 2. Self-directed – required minimal supervision.
- 3. Strong knowledge of PLC’s essential.
- 4. Experience / Exposure with Telemecanique hardware and software would be advantageous.
- 5. Ability to operate, maintain and install E & I equipment’s. The ability to be able to read electrical circuit diagrams, P&ID process drawings, PLC ladder diagrams and setup VSD’s.
- 6. Ability to calibrate equipment and maintain calibration, preferred intermediate to advance computer skills.
- 7. Ability to effectively handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- 8. Knowledge of written and spoken English.
- 9. Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment.
- 10. Have good and sound fault find techniques ensuring that downtime is kept to a minimum during breakdowns.
- 11. Is a team player with a positive ‘can do’ attitude.
