Job summary

Fajar Palmkel Sdn Bhd is seeking an Electric & Instrumentation Technician to maintain and calibrate E&I equipment, ensure reliable operation, and minimize downtime in a refinery environment. You will handle breakdowns, engage with contractors, and uphold SSHE and quality standards.

The role requires a valid Sijil Kemahiran Malaysia (Juruteknik Electric) and 2 years of related experience, or 5 years in E&I calibration/maintenance.

Qualifications

• Experience in E&I maintenance and calibration in refinery environments.
• Ability to identify faults and minimize downtime on equipment.
• Proficient to operate forklift.
• Clear communication in Bahasa Melayu; basic English understood.

Responsibilities

• Maintain electrical & instrumentation equipment (valves, sensors, PLC, meters).
• Carry out periodic calibration of E&I equipment.
• Respond to breakdowns and resolve faults to reduce production downtime.
• Liaise with contractors/suppliers on project activities.
• Ensure compliance with quality standards and SSHE SOPs.
• Participate in weekly/monthly trainings.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Head of Department.

Job description

Responsible for the electrical & instrumentation equipment (control valve, temperature sensor, pressure sensor, flowmeter, level sensor, level switch, PH meter, PLC and etc.)

To ensure all equipment are running in good conditions

Carry out periodic calibration on all E&I equipment in timely manner

Attend E&I equipment breakdowns, identify faults, and solve problems with minimal downtime to production

Liaise with contractor / supplier on project activities

To ensure compliance and enforcement of quality standard and departmental SOP

To ensure compliance and enforcement of SSHE regulation

To actively participate in weekly, monthly trainings

Perform any other duties or undertake additional roles from time to time, whether ad-hoc or otherwise, as assigned by the management

Assists in other duties as deem necessary as assigned by the Head of Department (HOD)

Job Success Requirements

Minimum Sijil Kemahiran Malaysia (Juruteknik Electric) and 2 years of relevant working experience or 5 years of working experience in E&I calibration and maintenance, preferably experienced in refinery plant

Able to work with minimal supervision

Experience in handling forklift

Understanding of quality standards is preferrable

Able to communicate in Bahasa Melayu and understand basic English

Must be precise, accurate, and well organized and have strong attention to details
