Developing, implementing, and maintaining effective Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) policies, procedures, and programmes aligned with regulatory requirements and industry best practices
Conducting regular workplace inspections, hazard assessments, and risk evaluations to identify potential safety hazards and environmental concerns
Investigating workplace incidents, accidents, and near-misses to determine root causes and implementing corrective and preventative measures
Providing health and safety training to employees at all levels, including induction programmes, toolbox talks, and specialised EHS training sessions
Monitoring workplace conditions and ensuring compliance with occupational safety and health legislation and environmental regulations
Maintaining comprehensive EHS documentation, records, and reports, including incident logs, training records, and audit trails
Liaising with regulatory bodies, auditors, and external EHS consultants to ensure ongoing compliance and continuous improvement
Promoting environmental sustainability initiatives and waste management programmes within the facility
Supporting management in identifying opportunities for EHS improvements and cost-effective solutions
Conducting emergency response drills and maintaining emergency preparedness protocols
Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health and Safety, Occupational Safety and Health, Environmental Science, or related engineering discipline
Minimum 2-3 years of professional experience in an EHS or occupational safety and health role, preferably in manufacturing or industrial environments
Sound knowledge of Malaysian occupational safety and health legislation, environmental regulations, and industry standards.
Strong understanding of hazard identification, risk assessment, and control measures
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage employees at all levels
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and familiarity with EHS management systems or databases and knowledge in ISO 45001 and Legal Compliance.
Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver effective training programmes
Strong attention to detail and organisational skills with the capacity to manage multiple priorities
Valid certification in occupational safety and health (such as IOSH, NEBOSH, or equivalent) is highly desirable
Registered Safety and Health Officer (Green Book/ registered with DOSH)
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
