SCHOTT Glass (M) Sdn Bhd in Penang seeks a seasoned EHS Manager to lead all environment, health and safety initiatives, ensure compliance with local laws and corporate standards, and drive continuous improvement across the site.
You will develop and maintain integrated management systems, conduct internal audits, coordinate external certifications, manage EHS budgets, train staff, and act as a trusted advisor to stop unsafe work.
Lead and drive all Environment, Health, Safety (EHS) and Security initiatives to ensure compliance with legal, corporate and industry requirements.
Develop, implement and continuously improve the site's Integrated Management System, including EHS, Risk Management and Energy Management programs.
Monitor EHS performance through KPIs, audits, inspections and reporting, providing actionable recommendations to management.
Plan and conduct internal audits, coordinate external certification audits, and ensure effective follow-up of corrective actions.
Lead EHS-related projects, best-practice implementation, and continuous improvement initiatives across the site and global network.
Develop and maintain emergency response plans, conduct drills, investigate incidents, and drive preventive actions.
Partner with department leaders to identify, assess and mitigate operational, environmental and safety risks.
Provide expert guidance on EHS legislation, standards and regulatory changes, ensuring organizational compliance.
Deliver EHS training, awareness programs and coaching to foster a strong safety culture across the organization.
Support investment and operational decisions by ensuring compliance with EHS and risk management requirements.
Manage EHS budgets and resources effectively to support business objectives and continuous improvement.
Act as the site's trusted EHS advisor with authority to stop unsafe work and drive corrective actions when required.
Your Profile
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Environmental Science or a related discipline.
Professional certification as a Safety Officer, Safety Engineer, Environmental Management Officer or equivalent.
Minimum 10 years of experience in Environment, Health & Safety (EHS), preferably within manufacturing or industrial environments.
Strong knowledge of occupational health & safety, environmental management, risk management and regulatory compliance.
Qualified Internal Auditor with experience in management systems auditing (ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and related standards preferred).
Proven experience in developing and implementing EHS management systems and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
Strong project management and stakeholder management capabilities.
Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Results-oriented, proactive and capable of working independently in a fast-paced environment.
Fluent in English with strong report-writing and computer literacy skills.
Demonstrated ability to build collaborative relationships and foster a positive safety culture across the organization.
