Job summary

SCHOTT Glass (M) Sdn Bhd in Penang seeks a seasoned EHS Manager to lead all environment, health and safety initiatives, ensure compliance with local laws and corporate standards, and drive continuous improvement across the site.

You will develop and maintain integrated management systems, conduct internal audits, coordinate external certifications, manage EHS budgets, train staff, and act as a trusted advisor to stop unsafe work.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Environmental Science or related discipline.
• Professional certification as Safety Officer, Safety Engineer, Environmental Management Officer or equivalent.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in Environment, Health & Safety (EHS), preferably within manufacturing or industrial environments.
• Strong knowledge of occupational health & safety, environmental management, risk management and regulatory compliance.
• Qualified Internal Auditor with experience in management systems auditing (ISO 14001, ISO 45001 preferred).
• Proven experience in developing and implementing EHS management systems and driving continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Lead and drive all EHS and Security initiatives to ensure compliance with legal, corporate and industry requirements.
• Develop, implement and continuously improve the site's Integrated Management System (EHS, Risk, Energy).
• Monitor EHS performance via KPIs, audits, inspections and reporting; provide actionable recommendations to management.
• Plan and conduct internal audits, coordinate external certification audits, follow up on corrective actions.
• Lead EHS-related projects and continuous improvement initiatives across site and global network.
• Develop and maintain emergency response plans, conduct drills, investigate incidents, drive preventive actions.
• Partner with leaders to identify, assess and mitigate operational, environmental and safety risks.
• Provide expert guidance on EHS legislation, standards and regulatory changes to ensure compliance.
• Deliver EHS training and coaching to foster a strong safety culture.
