Job summary

Jora Malaysia is seeking an Occupational Safety and Health professional to oversee safety, health, and environmental compliance at our manufacturing site. You will liaise with DOE/DOSH, monitor wastewater treatment, and ensure daily water quality according to DOE standards.

The role requires a degree in Safety/Environment or engineering, 1–3 years in manufacturing or schedule waste, and CePIETSO PCP certification; ISO 9001/45001/14001 experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Minimum Degree in Occupational Safety and Health Management/Environment/Engineering or equivalent.
• 1-3 years experience especially in Manufacturing industry & Schedule Waste Industry
• Must fully competent for CePIETSO(PCP) Certificate (Certified Environmental Professional in Industrial Effluent Treatment System (Physical Chemical Process)
• Experience handling safety & health or Green Book holder will be an advantage
• Experience in ISO 9001, ISO 45001& ISO 14001

Responsibilities

• Liaise with DOE/DOSH/BOMBA for licensing and compliance issue.
• Monitor waste water treatment plant final discharge water meet DOE standard requirement.
• Ensure daily water treatment quality before discharge
• Respond and conduct industrial effluent treatment process control and monitoring effectively and efficiently and suggest any improvement.
• Conduct periodic check and routine inspection to treatment processes according to the system recommendation and checklist.
• Ensure the work is performed in accordance with the specifications and approved procedures.
• Prepare monthly performance monitoring report as DOE required.
• Ensure all piping, connector, pump and motor are well maintained
• Safety & Health responsibilities including preparation of safety documentation, PPE, toolbox talks, and audits.
• Lead or facilitate workplace incident investigations and support audits (ISO 9001/45001/14001)

Safety & Health

• Responsible on all safety & health, environmental acts and procedures.
• Prepare and maintain all safety & health related documentation & liaise with Government related authorities and agencies (OHSAS 18001).
• Provide and record PPE, lead toolbox meeting on regular basis, ensure all employees are in compliance with safety & health regulations.
• Responsible for any accident investigation, report, and submission of report to DOSH.
• Full responsibility for preparation for HSE audits, and all other audits including ISO 9001, ISO 45001& ISO 14001.
• Support the implementation of the safety and wellness strategic plan in areas of responsibility (inclusive of plant and equipment and chemicals within manufacturing site and maintaining a safe working environment across entire site)
• Contribute to the identification of risk factors and the analysis and prioritization of safety and wellness risks.
• Lead or facilitate the investigation of workplace incidents.

EDUCATION/BACKGROUND

• Minimum Degree in Occupational Safety and Health Management/Environment/Engineering or equivalent.
• At least 1-3 years experience especially in Manufacturing industry & Schedule Waste Industry
