Job summary

Netzero Technology Sdn. Bhd. seeks an EHS Assistant to support the EHS Department in maintaining workplace safety, health, and environmental compliance at our site in Malaysia. You will assist with inspections, training coordination, risk assessments, monitoring activities, and documentation to ensure legal compliance.

The role involves helping investigators with incidents and ensuring up-to-date SDS records, with a focus on safety and environmental practices across the facility.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of EHS regulations and policies.
• Familiarity with OSHA/DOE legislation.
• Awareness of potentially hazardous materials and practices.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and replenish First Aid Kits and Spill Kits.
• Inspect fire extinguishers and report defects.
• Conduct periodic checks of fire hose reels and hydrants.
• Assist with EHS training programmes and risk assessments.
• Support monitoring, testing, and documentation for compliance.
• Contribute to workplace incident investigations and SDS checks.

The EHS Assistant supports the EHS Department in maintaining workplace safety, health, and environmental compliance. The role involves conducting inspections, coordinating training programmes, assisting with risk assessments, supporting monitoring and testing activities, investigating incidents, and maintaining EHS records and documentation.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect and replenish First Aid Kits to ensure adequate supplies are available and maintained in good condition
• Inspect, update and maintain Spill Kits to ensure they are properly equipped and readily available for emergency use
• Conduct monthly inspections of fire extinguishers and report any defects or abnormalities for corrective action
• Conduct periodic/random inspections of fire hose reels and hydrants and report any defects, damage or obstruction
• Assist the EHS Department in coordinating and conducting EHS training programmes
• Assist in conducting workplace risk assessments, including HIRARC
• Assist in identifying workplace hazards and following up on corrective actions as instructed by the EHS Officer
• Assist the EHS Department in coordinating and preparing for EHS monitoring, testing and assessments required for legal compliance
• Assist the EHS Officer in workplace accident and incident investigations
• Check that SDS are current and report any missing or outdated SDS to the EHS Officer

About you

• Knowledge of EHS regulations and policies and procedures
• Knowledge of legislation (OSHA / DOE)
• Knowledge of potentially hazardous materials or practices
• One year of experience in related experience preferred
