Job summary

Crowne Plaza Penang Straits City is seeking a passionate Sales Manager to join our Commercial team on a full-time, on-site basis in Penang. You will develop new business opportunities, nurture key client relationships and drive revenue across hotel market segments.

You will collaborate with the Director of Sales & Marketing and other departments, conduct sales calls, site inspections and proposals, and negotiate favourable terms to achieve revenue targets in the Penang and Northern Region.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Sales & Marketing, Hospitality, Business Administration or related field.
• Minimum 2–3 years of hotel sales experience, preferably in 4- or 5-star hotel.
• Fluent in English and Bahasa Malaysia; additional languages are an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with corporate accounts, business partners, travel agents and other key clients.
• Proactively identify and secure new business opportunities.
• Conduct regular sales calls, client meetings, presentations, site inspections and hotel familiarisation visits.
• Manage assigned accounts and develop strategies to increase revenue and market share.
• Negotiate rates and commercial terms within established hotel guidelines.
• Follow up on enquiries, proposals and potential business opportunities.
• Monitor competitor activities, market trends and business developments within Penang and the Northern Region.
• Participate in networking events, trade shows and sales activities to strengthen the hotel's market presence.
• Work closely with Revenue, Reservations, Events, F&B and Front Office teams to maximise revenue opportunities.
• Maintain accurate sales activities, account information, forecasts and reports.
• Support the Director of Sales & Marketing in implementing the hotel's overall sales strategy and achieving revenue targets.
