Job summary

Euro Staffs is seeking a Draughtsman on site in Malaysia to prepare, update, and coordinate geotechnical and infrastructure drawings, supporting design development, tender submissions, construction, and as-built documentation.

You will work closely with engineers and project teams to ensure drawings meet specifications and authority standards, using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and GeoStudio, with opportunities for professional growth.

Qualifications

Diploma or Degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
Proficient in AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
Knowledge in GeoStudio and Slope/W advantageous.
Able to read and interpret engineering drawings and specs.
Geotechnical and civil engineering knowledge beneficial.
Detail-oriented, accurate, and responsible in drafting work.
Capable of working independently and meeting deadlines.

Responsibilities

Prepare, update, and revise engineering drawings using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and other drafting software.
Produce detailed drawings for geotechnical and infrastructure works (slopes, retaining walls, piling, drainage).
Prepare tender, construction, IFC, and as-built drawings per engineer requirements.
Develop sections, profiles, cross-sections, and detailed construction drawings.
Coordinate with geotechnical and civil engineers on design updates and drawing requirements.
Translate sketches and calculations into technical drawings; update per feedback and site conditions.
Maintain document control and manage drawing submissions to clients/consultants/authorities.
Attend site visits for measurement verification and drawing coordination.

Position Overview

The Draughtsman is responsible for preparing, updating, and coordinating all engineering drawings related to geotechnical and infrastructure projects. This role supports the engineering team in producing accurate technical drawings for design development, tender submission, construction, and as-built documentation. The position requires close coordination with engineers, consultants, and project teams to ensure all drawings comply with project specifications, design requirements, and authority standards.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Drawing Preparation
- Prepare, update, and revise engineering drawings using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and other relevant drafting software.
- Produce detailed drawings for geotechnical and infrastructure works including:
  - Slope protection and stabilization works
  - Soil nailing systems
  - Retaining walls and earth retaining structures
  - Piling and foundation works
  - Drainage systems and earthworks
  - Borehole layout and geotechnical investigation plans
  - Infrastructure and substructure detailing
- Prepare tender drawings, construction drawings, IFC drawings, and as-built drawings based on engineer requirements
- Develop sections, profiles, cross-sections, and detailed construction drawings accurately and clearly
Engineering Coordination
- Support Coordinate closely with geotechnical and civil engineers on design updates and drawing requirements
- Translate engineering sketches, calculations, and design concepts into technical drawings.
- Update drawings based on engineer comments, client feedback, site conditions, and authority requirements.
- Assist in resolving drawing discrepancies through coordination with engineering and site teams.
Software & Technical Application
- Use drafting and engineering software including:
  - AutoCAD
  - Civil 3D
  - GeoStudio
  - Slope/W (Slope-X)
- Ensure all drawings follow company drafting standards and engineering best practices.
- Maintain proper digital file management, revision control, and drawing database organization.
Documentation & Submission Support
- Maintain proper document control for all drawings, revisions, and technical records.
- Ensure drawings are properly labeled, updated, and stored according to project requirements.
- Assist in preparing drawing submissions to clients, consultants, and authorities (e.g., JKR, JPS, PBT).
- Ensure compliance with project specifications, engineering standards, and authority guidelines.
Site & Technical Coordination
- Attend site visits when required for measurement verification and drawing coordination.
- Assist engineers in ensuring drawings reflect actual site conditions.
- Coordinate with site teams and contractors for technical clarification related to drawings.
General Support
- Support engineers in preparing presentation drawings and technical documentation.
- Assist in design coordination meetings and technical discussions when required.
- Ensure timely completion of drawings according to project schedules and deadlines.
