Guan Chong Cocoa Manufacturer Sdn. Bhd. in Pasir Gudang, Johor, a leading cocoa processor in Asia, is seeking a Draughtsman to prepare, develop, and maintain 2D/3D drawings and layouts for engineering projects and plant operations.

The role focuses on producing detailed drawings, ensuring compliance with standards, and supporting project teams through design reviews, site measurements, and as-built updates. Strong CAD proficiency and document control are essential.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in mechanical, civil or electrical engineering or technical drafting.
• 2–5 years of drafting experience in manufacturing, engineering, construction, or industrial environments.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, revise, and maintain 2D and 3D drawings using AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or other approved drafting software.
• Produce detailed engineering drawings, fabrication drawings, assembly drawings, layouts, schematics, and construction drawings.
• Convert hand sketches and calculations into accurate technical drawings.
• Ensure drawings comply with engineering standards, specifications, and company requirements.
• Maintain drawing registers and document control records.
• Assist project teams in preparing design documentation and coordinate drawing revisions.
• Provide drawing support during project execution, including installation and commissioning.
• Update as-built drawings after project completion.
• Follow company quality management systems and document-control procedures.

Guan Chong Cocoa Manufacturer Sdn Bhd is Asia’s largest cocoa processing company based in Pasir Gudang, Johor, Malaysia. We are currently seeking a Draughtsman to prepare, develop, and maintain technical drawings, layouts, and plans to support engineering projects and plant operations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with project specifications.

1) Technical Drawing & Documentation

• Prepare, revise, and maintain 2D and 3D technical drawings using AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or other approved drafting software.
• Produce detailed engineering drawings, fabrication drawings, assembly drawings, layouts, schematics, and construction drawings.
• Convert hand sketches, concepts, and engineering calculations into accurate technical drawings.
• Ensure drawings comply with applicable engineering standards, specifications, and company requirements.
• Maintain drawing registers and document control records.

2) Project Support

• Assist project teams in preparing design documentation.
• Coordinate drawing revisions based on engineering and client requirements.
• Provide drawing support during project execution, installation, and commissioning activities.
• Participate in design reviews and technical discussions when required.
• Conduct site measurements and verification activities when necessary.
• Ensure drawings accurately reflect actual site conditions and equipment arrangements.
• Update as-built drawings after project completion.

4) Document Control

• Maintain revision history and document traceability.
• Ensure obsolete drawings are removed from circulation.
• Manage electronic and hardcopy drawing archives.
• Support audits by providing accurate engineering documentation.

5) Compliance & Quality

• Follow company quality management systems and document-control procedures.
• Ensure technical drawings comply with safety, engineering, and regulatory requirements.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives related to drafting standards and drawing management.

Job Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Technical Drafting, or related discipline.

2) Experience

• Minimum 2-5 years of drafting experience in manufacturing, engineering, construction, or industrial environments.
• Fresh graduates with strong CAD proficiency may be considered for junior positions.

3) Technical Skills

• Proficient in AutoCAD.
• Knowledge of SolidWorks, Inventor, Revit, or other CAD software is an advantage.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, P&ID, GA drawings, and technical specifications.
• Familiarity with document control systems.

4) Soft Skills
