Job summary

T.T.E. Engineering in Malaysia (Selangor) is seeking a Diploma- or Certificate-level Draughtsman to create 2D/3D drawings for M&E and building services. You will produce construction, shop, coordination and as-built drawings, and ensure accuracy against specs and site conditions.

Role requires proficiency in AutoCAD and familiarity with Revit/BIM; travel to sites is expected as needed. Close collaboration with engineers and project teams is essential.

Qualifications

• Diploma or certificate in engineering or M&E or related field.
• Proficient in AutoCAD; knowledge of Revit/BIM is a plus.
• Able to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Understanding of construction and M&E drawings.
• Willing to travel to construction sites when required.

Responsibilities

Job description

• Prepare detailed 2D and 3D drawings based on engineering designs, specifications and project requirements.
• Develop construction drawings, shop drawings, coordination drawings, as-built drawings and other technical documentation.
• Produce drawings for M&E systems such as ACMV/HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire protection and other building services, where applicable.
• Ensure drawings are prepared according to project specifications, relevant standards and company requirements.
• Coordinate drawings with engineers, project managers, site teams, architects and other consultants.
• Incorporate engineering revisions, site requirements and comments from consultants or clients into drawings.
• Identify potential clashes or discrepancies between different disciplines and highlight them to the relevant engineer.
• Assist in coordinating M&E services with structural and architectural drawings.
• Prepare detailed shop drawings based on approved design drawings.
• Ensure drawings accurately reflect actual site conditions and installation requirements.
• Revise drawings according to site progress and construction changes.
• Prepare drawings for submission to consultants, clients and relevant authorities when required.
• Update drawings based on actual site installation and approved changes.
• Prepare and maintain accurate as-built drawings upon completion of works.
• Coordinate with site personnel to obtain the latest installation information and measurements.
• Maintain proper drawing numbering, revision status and drawing registers.
• Ensure the latest approved drawings are used by the project/site team.
• Maintain electronic and hard-copy drawing records.
• Incorporate comments and revisions accurately and within the required timeframe.
• Liaise with site engineers and supervisors to clarify drawing requirements.
• Conduct site visits where necessary to verify dimensions, existing conditions and installation details.
• Assist the project team in resolving drawing-related issues during construction.
• Update drawings to reflect site conditions and approved design changes.
• Check drawings for accuracy, completeness, dimensions, scale and consistency before submission.
• Ensure drawings comply with project specifications, engineering requirements and relevant standards.
• Follow company procedures and project-specific drawing standards.

Key Skills / Requirements

• Diploma or Certificate in Engineering, M&E, CAD or a related field.
• Proficient in AutoCAD; knowledge of Revit/BIM would be an advantage.
• Able to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Understanding of construction and M&E drawings.
• Good knowledge of drawing standards, symbols, dimensions and layouts.
• Good attention to detail and accuracy.
• Able to work under project deadlines.
