Job summary

Avery Dennison in Malaysia is seeking a Direct Procurement Specialist/Executive to support daily operations: converting requisitions to POs, tracking deliveries, and maintaining supplier data in the ERP system. 1-3 years of procurement or supply chain experience is required.

Responsibilities

• PO Execution & Tracking: Convert requisitions into POs within ERP and monitor status.

• Data Maintenance: Update ERP master data including pricing, lead times, safety stock, supplier contacts.
• Invoice & Quality Resolution: Coordinate with Accounts Payable and QA for price discrepancies and RMAs.
• Supplier Performance Tracking: Compile monthly supplier scorecards and monitor OTIF and defects.

Position Overview The Direct Procurement Specialist/Executive supports the daily operational activities required to secure raw materials and components for production. With 1-3 years of experience, this role focuses on executing purchase orders (POs), tracking material delivery timelines, monitoring inventory levels, and conducting initial supplier data analysis. The role requires basic technical understanding of chemical raw materials (including chemical molecular structures) to effectively source and manage production inputs. The goal is to ensure 100% supply continuity for the manufacturing line. Key Responsibilities PO Execution & Tracking: Convert purchase requisitions into purchase orders (POs) within the ERP system. Track shipments to ensure on-time delivery. Chemical Sourcing & Technical Expertise: Manage sourcing of chemical raw materials by interpreting technical molecular specifications, ensuring material compliance, and collaborating with R&D or Quality teams to vet new chemical suppliers. Data Maintenance: Maintain accurate master data in the ERP system, including current pricing, lead times, safety stock levels, and supplier contact details. Invoice & Quality Resolution: Coordinate with Accounts Payable to resolve invoice price discrepancies and work with Quality Assurance to handle supplier material returns (RMA process). Supplier Performance Tracking: Compile monthly supplier scorecard data, tracking KPIs such as On-Time In-Full (OTIF) delivery and defect rates. Experience: 1-3 years of experience in procurement, supply chain coordination, or inventory management. Education: Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Supply Chain, Business, or a related field. Technical Skills: Hands-on experience with an ERP system (SAP) is highly advantageous. Competencies: Strong attention to detail, sense of urgency, clear communication, and basic problem-solving skills. Technical Chemical Knowledge: Ability to interpret chemical specifications and molecule data to identify and source correct raw materials. Fluent in written and spoken English and Malay to effectively coordinate with diverse internal departments and local vendors. Proficiency in Mandarin is a plus to manage relationships with regional service providers.
