Kuching Specialist Hospital is seeking to hire a Dietitian to assist in developing and managing dietetic services. You will provide nutritional support and dietary consultation for patients while ensuring quality assurance in dietetic practices.
The ideal candidate should have a degree in Nutrition and Dietetics and 4-5 years of related experience, combined with strong communication, analytical, and project management skills. Overall Management: To assist in developing, establishing and continually upgrading the system of Dietetic Services in accordance with the overall goals and objectives of KPJ Kuching Specialist Hospital. To assist in developing, implementing and reviewing the services standards, guidelines, policies and procedures in conformance with the KPJ Kuching Specialist Hospital Policies and Procedures. To assist in developing, implementing and evaluating quality assurance programs to ensure quality and professional dietetic services. To assist in planning, directing and coordinating the activities of the Services in order to facilitate smooth workflow and quality services. To constructively participate in intra-/inter-services meetings. To assist in preparing and maintaining reports/records of various statistics as directed and submit to management in a timely manner.
Clinical Dietetics: To develop and review diet literature for patients, carers or staff. To provide nutritional support and dietary consultation to all referred in-/outpatients. To liaise with medical staff, nursing staff and other allied health professionals regarding the dietary management of patients. To keep appropriate records and correspondence regarding patients. To ensure an accurate collection of statistical data required for management purposes. To assist in liaising with vendors of nutritional products and ensure the appropriate products are purchased.
Food Services: To participate in the menu planning for normal and therapeutic diets. To inspect and monitor the preparation and serving of therapeutic diets. To provide in-house dietetic lectures or training sessions to staff particularly Dietetic, Dietary and Nursing. To monitor outsource catering/cafeteria (where relevant).
Community Nutrition: To plan and conduct nutrition education programs or talks for patients and publics.
Professional Development: To participate actively in professional development programs to update and upgrade managerial and professional skills (e.g. attend relevant seminars/conferences). To carry out duties as an employee as stipulated in Occupational Safety and Health Act and Regulations 1994: Ensure all policies and procedures of ISO 9001:2008, ISO 14001:2004, OHSAS 18001:2007 are adhered to and records maintained, if and when programs are implemented. Ensure to actively participate in all quality accreditation activities (e.g. JCI, MSQH, 5S – where applicable). Ensure the policies on patients and family’s rights are addressed at all times. Ensure compliance to Patient Safety Goals as safety improvement measure recommended by World Alliance for Patient Safety (2008). Ensure adherence to Standard People Practice (SPP). To assist in any other responsibility as deemed necessary by immediate Superior or Hospital Management.
