KPJ Healthcare Berhad in Malaysia seeks a Dietary Services Assistant to process diet orders, assist patients in selections according to prescribed diet, and ensure meals are served as ordered.
Training provided; no experience required. You will check meals, consult with a Dietitian, and support hospital catering and transport functions across a patient-centric service culture.
To maintain a high standard of food presentation service and hygiene to patients and visitors
Process new diet orders or diet changes as required and update accordingly Assist patients in making proper selections according to prescribed diet. Take orders either manually or via Mobile Dietary Menu (MDM) Check menu against inpatient’s diet prescription and do adjustment accordingly. Consult Dietitian if have doubt Assist to check each patient’s meal at the end of meal assembly process to make sure food is served as ordered Attending on-the-job training workshops and lectures Prepare food items by ensuring both quality and quantity Manage transportation of food and supplies. Ensure temperatures are within specified range as according to statutory requirements and recommended approved guidance Perform light bookkeeping duties Report kitchen malfunctions to superior immediately Inspect food items and equipment on a constant basis Assist with food preparation services for catering projects Any other duties as instructed by the organization
Education: Minimum SPM / STPM, Courses in food handling and services or equivalent Knowledge and Experiences: No experience required as on-the-job training shall be provided. However, experience in food related industry shall be an added Familiarity with any food industry Experience in Hospital Dietary Services will be an extra advantage Knowledge of customer service related Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effective across functions Ability to work collaboratively in a team and interface with various levels of the organization Skills & Competencies: Special skills required Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Maintains the integrity and quality of both computerized and manual data Personal attributes Self-motivated with good interpersonal and communication skills with positive attitude to work Able to work on own initiatives, prioritize work and meet deadlines Good timekeeping but prepared to be flexible
