Job summary

Sime Darby Berhad is seeking a skilled automotive service technician to independently test and diagnose electronic and electrical systems on Ford vehicles, ensuring compliance with manufacturer specifications. The role includes performing complex engine and chassis repairs and guiding colleagues and apprentices in best practices.

The candidate will supervise the electronic workshop, share updates on technical modifications, and work with measurement tools and testing facilities to support

Qualifications

• Troubleshooting electrical and electronic systems per manufacturer specs.
• Proficient in diagnosing automotive electrical issues and fault finding.
• Able to guide and train apprentices and colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Independently conduct all tests and measurements for trouble-shooting electronic and electrical components on Ford cars per manufacturer specs.
• Perform repair work including tuning and adjustment of engines, drive components, transmissions, steering, brakes, chassis and suspensions per specs.
• Provide practical instruction and support to apprentices and colleagues.
• Ensure tidiness and cleanliness in the electronic section.
• Keep apprentices and colleagues updated on technical modifications and innovations for Ford cars, testing facilities and tools.

Job description

Responsible for independently conducting all tests and measurements for trouble-shooting all electronic and electrical components on Ford cars in accordance with the specifications provided by the manufacturer.

Responsible for all repair work in particular difficult tuning and adjustment of engines, drive components, transmissions, final drive units, steering and brake systems, chassis and suspensions in accordance with the manufacturer's specifications.

Responsible for practical instruction and support apprentices and colleagues.

Responsible for ensuring and supervising tidiness and cleanliness in the electronic section.

Responsible for providing apprentices and colleagues with regular and up-to-date information on technical modifications and innovations regarding Ford cars, measuring and testing facilities and tools.

Qualification

MLVK 3 or Diploma in Automotive Engineering major in Electrical & Electronic.

Minimum 2 years of relevant working experience
