Job summary

Jora Malaysia invites an experienced mechanical engineer to join their team in Penang. You will design automated machinery using SolidWorks, develop concepts, and ensure designs meet performance specs.

The role requires at least 5 years in a related role and preference for those with team management experience; a diploma or degree in Mechanical or Mechatronics is expected. Opportunities to collaborate with vendors and customers.

Qualifications

• Experience with SolidWorks and 2D drawing standards.
• 5+ years in relevant mechanical engineering role; team management preferred.
• Proficient in BOM creation and tolerance notation.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop automated machines using SolidWorks.
• Support new machine design concepts and proposals.
• Ensure final designs meet functional and performance specifications.
• Handle daily design tasks and manage project timelines.
• Prepare BOM lists and drawings; review with the engineering team.
• Support setup, test runs, and vendor/customer interactions.

• Responsible for automated machine design and development using SolidWorks software.
• Support new machine design concept and proposals.
• Responsible for ensuring the final design meets functional and performance specifications.
• Handle daily design tasks and sensitive to time allocation of projects.
• Ensure designs and projects are completed on time and cost effective.
• Support setup, test run and equipment buyoff.
• Resolve problems related to assigned projects by working with vendors and customers.
• Support application, evaluation, testing, and maintenance of company products.
• Review work submitted through the SolidWorks system and ensured the proper procedures are followed.
• Generate detailed B.O.M list according to the company format/standard.
• Prepare drawings and review them along with the engineering team.

You are a good fit if you possess the following:

• Familiarity with SolidWorks and MS Office. Vector works is a plus.
• Able to make 2D Assembly cross section drawings and Module BOM list.
• Able to make 2D Part Drawings with good tolerance indication.
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
• Highly organized, disciplined and ability to work within timelines.
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
• Diploma or Degree in Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering or related discipline.
• At least 5 years experiences in relevant role preferable with team management experiences.
