Job summary

Manufacturing Integration Technology Ltd in Malaysia is seeking a Design & Document Control Assistant Engineer to support drafting, BOM management and project documentation. You will prepare 2D drawings, update part libraries and assist design engineers in mechanical tasks while ensuring accuracy and on-time delivery.

The role requires reading drawings, proficiency in SolidWorks or Creo, and good communication in English (Mandarin preferred).

Qualifications

• STPM or diploma in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
• Experience in technical drawing/drafting preferred.
• Able to read mechanical drawings and BOMs.
• Proficient in SolidWorks or Creo.
• Good attention to detail and document control.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, generate and update 2D drawings and BOM lists for projects.
• Maintain and update standard components in the library.
• Ensure accuracy and quality in all drafting activities.
• Maintain proper standards for engineering drawings and project documentation.
• Manage and control mechanical engineering department documents and drawings.
• Support design engineers in mechanical design and documentation activities.
• Assist in resolving mechanical and fabrication-related issues.
• Prepare purchase requisitions for new parts and outstanding project items.
• Ensure tasks and project documentation are completed on schedule.
• Work closely with design engineers and project team members to support execution.

Design & Document Control Assistant Engineer

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare, generate and update 2D technical drawings, BOM lists and other project-related drawings.
• Maintain and update standard components in the Standard Part Library.
• Ensure accuracy and quality in all drafting activities.
• Maintain proper standards for engineering drawings and project documentation.
• Manage and control Mechanical Engineering department documents and drawings.
• Support Design Engineers in mechanical design and documentation activities.
• Assist in resolving mechanical and fabrication-related issues.
• Prepare Purchase Requisitions (PR) for new parts and parts required for outstanding project issues.
• Ensure assigned tasks and project documentation are completed according to schedule.
• Work closely with Design Engineers and other project team members to support project execution.

Requirements

• STPM, Professional Certificate, Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent qualification and above.
• Preferably 3 years of working experience in technical drawing/drafting.
• Knowledge of SolidWorks and/or Creo.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Able to read and understand mechanical drawings.
• Good attention to detail and document control.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Able to communicate in English and Mandarin. We are seeking candidates proficient in Mandarin to effectively communicate with Mandarin-speaking clients.
