Job summary

IEC Plant Engineering Sdn Bhd in Selangor is seeking a qualified Drafter to produce detailed mechanical, piping, and structural drawings for process equipment and services. You will convert concepts into precise drawings, maintain revision history, and collaborate with design engineers, production and project teams to ensure manufacturability and on-time delivery.

Candidates with 5+ years in drafting, proficiency in Inventor and AutoCAD, and the ability to work independently will be preferred;

Qualifications

• Minimum Certificate / Diploma / Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Drafting, Design Technology, or related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years working experience in drafting / engineering design environment.
• Proficient in Inventor and AutoCAD 3D Software; also proficient in AutoCAD 2D.
• Experience in machine parts drawing, piping drawings, and fabrication drawings is mandatory.
• Fresh graduates with strong software skills and internship exposure are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed drafting of mechanical parts, fabrication components, and assemblies.
• Prepare piping layout drawings, isometric drawings, and piping support details.
• Prepare steel structure drawings, general arrangement drawings, and fabrication details.
• Prepare process equipment drawings including tanks, vessels, skids, and related systems.
• Convert engineering concepts, sketches, and mark-ups into accurate technical drawings.
• Revise and update drawings based on engineering changes and project requirements.
• Ensure drawings comply with company drafting standards, dimensions, tolerances, and documentation controls.
• Coordinate closely with Design Engineers, Production, and Project teams for drawing accuracy and manufacturability.
• Maintain proper filing, revision history, and document control of drawings.
• Support continuous improvement of drafting standards and workflows.

Drafter

Key Responsibilities

• Possess minimum Certificate / Diploma / Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Drafting, Design Technology, or related discipline;
• Minimum 5 years working experience in drafting / engineering design environment;
• Proficient in Inventor and AutoCAD 3D Software;
• Proficient in AutoCAD 2D;
• Experience in machine parts drawing, piping drawings, and fabrication drawings is mandatory;
• Knowledge of process equipment or machinery drawings is an added advantage;
• Able to interpret engineering drawings, dimensions, and technical requirements accurately;
• Fresh graduates with strong software skills and relevant internship exposure are encouraged to apply;
• Must be able to work independently and meet project deadlines;
• Malaysian citizens only.
