Job summary

Kawan Engineering Sdn Bhd is seeking a Design and Costing Engineer to support engineering design, equipment sizing, project costing and tender preparation. You will collaborate with clients, consultants and suppliers to deliver cost-effective solutions.

Open to fresh graduates and junior professionals, with flexible/hybrid working arrangements. Candidates with up to three years of experience are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• Strong analytical, numerical and problem-solving abilities.
• Good reading of engineering drawings and technical specs.
• Willing to travel or support project-site activities when required.

Responsibilities

• Perform engineering design, calculations and equipment sizing.
• Prepare P&IDs, datasheets and technical drawings.
• Develop project cost estimates, quotations and budgets.
• Prepare technical and commercial tenders and client submissions.
• Review client requirements, specs and contract documents.
• Identify technical and commercial risks during design and proposal stages.
• Obtain and evaluate quotations from suppliers/subcontractors.
• Support project execution, site activities, testing and commissioning.
• Research emerging energy technologies and sustainable solutions.
