Job summary

Accenture is seeking a Network Infrastructure Engineer / SME in Malaysia to design, implement, and optimize enterprise-level network systems. You will lead architecture initiatives, configure routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, and ensure high availability and security across on-prem and cloud environments.

The role requires SME-level networking expertise, cloud networking experience, and strong leadership to mentor teams and collaborate with cross-functional groups.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (Master’s preferred).
• 8+ years of experience in network engineering, with SME-level expertise.
• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, MPLS, VLANs, QoS.
• Cloud networking (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Network automation tools (Ansible, Python, Terraform).
• Hands-on experience with Firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs.
• Load balancers and proxy servers.
• Network monitoring tools (SolarWinds, Nagios, Splunk).
• Relevant certifications: CCNP/CCIE, JNCIE, CISSP, AWS/Azure Networking Specialty.

Project Role Description:

The Network Infrastructure Engineer / SME is responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and optimizing enterprise-level network systems.

This role requires deep technical expertise in networking technologies, infrastructure architecture, and security best practices.

The SME will act as a trusted advisor to client, providing guidance on complex network challenges and ensuring high availability, scalability, and performance of IT infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

- Design & Architecture

• Develop and implement network infrastructure strategies aligned with business goals.

• Architect LAN, WAN, WLAN, SD-WAN, and cloud networking solutions.

• Ensure scalability, redundancy, and disaster recovery capabilities.

- Implementation & Operations

• Configure and deploy routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and VPNs.

• Manage network monitoring, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.

• Oversee upgrades, migrations, and integration of new technologies.

- Security & Compliance

• Implement network security policies, firewalls, IDS/IPS, and access controls.

• Ensure compliance with industry standards (ISO, NIST, GDPR, HIPAA, etc.).

• Conduct risk assessments and vulnerability management.

- Subject Matter Expertise

• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineering teams.

• Serve as the escalation point for complex network issues.

• Advise stakeholders on emerging technologies and best practices.

• Collaboration & Documentation

• Work closely with cross-functional teams (cloud, systems, DevOps, security).

• Document network designs, configurations, and operational procedures.

• Support audits, capacity planning, and strategic IT initiatives.

Required Skills & Qualifications
