General Description
The Manager – Network is responsible for overseeing the management and operational performance of the organization’s enterprise network infrastructure, including LAN, WAN, WLAN, internet connectivity, and data center networking. The role ensures secure, reliable, and high-performing connectivity across all operational environments and collaborates closely with Infrastructure, Applications, Security, and external vendors to maintain service levels, security standards, and operational requirements while supporting modernization initiatives and minimizing risks.
Job Description
1. Network Operations & Performance Management
- Manage daily operations of LAN, WAN, WLAN, Internet, SD‑WAN, and data center networks.
- Ensure network availability, performance, and reliability meet defined SLA and operational requirements.
- Monitor network capacity, utilization and performance trends, and drive optimization initiatives.
2. Network Infrastructure, Security & Governance
- Oversee routing, switching, firewall, VPN and SD‑WAN infrastructure.
- Ensure network configurations comply with security standards, governance policies and audit requirements.
- Maintain network architecture diagrams, IP address management (IPAM) and documentation.
3. Technology Refresh, Capacity & Lifecycle Management
- Lead network technology refresh initiatives, including hardware upgrades, replacements and migrations.
- Ensure upgrades and migrations are implemented with minimal service disruption.
- Plan and manage network capacity, scalability and lifecycle improvements to support business growth.
4. Incident, Change & Service Management
- Manage response to major network incidents and outages, ensuring timely service restoration.
- Ensure root cause analysis (RCA) and preventive actions are completed.
- Govern network changes through formal change management processes, ensuring minimal operational risk.
5. Team, Vendor & Asset Management
- Manage and mentor network engineers and senior engineers.
- Coordinate with vendors and service providers for operations, support and projects.
- Maintain network asset inventory, configurations and operational documentation, ensuring knowledge sharing and compliance.
Job Requirement
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology/Computer Science.
Knowledge and Experiences
- 7–10 Years of relevant experience managing enterprise network infrastructure such as LAN, WAN, WLAN, internet connectivity and data center networking.
- Experience supporting routing, switching and firewall technologies within enterprise environments.
- Experience supporting or managing network platform upgrades, hardware replacements and lifecycle initiatives.
- Experience monitoring network utilization, performance and service availability to maintain operational reliability.
- Understanding of network security controls including segmentation, firewall management and secure connectivity practices.
- Experience operating within network security standards, governance frameworks and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Proven ability to work effectively in team environments, collaborating with colleagues at all levels to meet project goals and deadlines.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong network operational leadership and ability to manage complex network environments and incidents.
- Effective coordination with infrastructure, security and application teams; strong vendor engagement and troubleshooting capability.
- Ability to manage technical documentation and operational standards.
- Technical skills: enterprise network infrastructure management, routing and switching technologies, firewall and VPN technologies, network monitoring and performance optimisation, network security and segmentation awareness, disaster recovery readiness.
- Special skills: network modernization and refresh planning, high‑availability and resilience management, capacity and performance planning, network change and incident management.
