KPJ Healthcare Berhad is seeking a Dental Assistant in Kuala Lumpur to support dentists during treatments, prepare rooms and equipment, and manage instruments and supplies. You will also assist with lab work and patient communication in a busy private practice.
The role requires 1–3 years of experience and SPM qualification, with strong patient interaction and organizational skills essential for daily front desk and clinical tasks.
Dental Assistant performs duties such as preparing the patient for the treatment, assisting the dentist/ specialist in performing their treatment to the patient in restorative dentistry or oral surgery, prepare materials & equipment for treatment and have them ready for the dentist’s or specialist use, and assist the dentist in laboratory work. May other related work include. Dental assistants may work with just one person, or as part of a team. They may have to work under pressure as most treatments have to be completed in a minimum amount of time.
Prepares treatment room for patients by following prescribed procedures and protocols.
Prepares patients for dental treatment by welcoming, comforting seating and draping patients
Provides information to patients and employees by answering questions and requests.
Prepare treatment room for dental treatment with correct instruments /materials for use as directed by the operator
- Hand dental instruments to dentist in an accurate and timely manner
Provide pre-and post-operative instructions for patients undergoing general or local anesthesia.
Clean, packing and sterilize instruments used after treatment.
Clean and tidy the surgery, and implement standard decontamination procedures for infection control
Maintain and restock dental materials.
Perform routine care and maintenance of dental equipment and instruments Know how to operate new dental technology equipment.
To inform counter person patient next appointment
Pour and trim models
Mail out and check in cases.
Education:
Knowledge and Experiences: SPM and 1 to 3 years’ experience as Dental Aide /Assistant
Skills & Competencies: A dental aide needs a mix of clinical tasks, people skills, and office organization. They prepare rooms, help dentists during treatments, keep tools clean and safe, talk to patients to make them feel calm, and handle front desk work like scheduling and records.
