Tentacle Tech in Malaysia invites an experienced Database Administrator Lead to join our on-site team. You will own MSSQL environments, drive performance, security, and reliability across enterprise-grade systems while mentoring the DBA group.

This contract role offers the chance to shape database strategies, implement HA/DR, and collaborate with cross-functional teams on critical projects in a leading technology consulting environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in a Database Administrator role.
• Strong proficiency in MSSQL and T-SQL.
• Hands-on experience with backup & recovery processes.
• Demonstrated expertise in performance tuning and optimisation.
• Solid understanding of database security principles.
• Prior experience in a DBA leadership or mentoring capacity.

The Role

We are looking for a skilled Database Administrator (DBA) Lead to oversee and optimise critical database environments within the technology sector. In this onsite contract role, you will take ownership of MSSQL database performance, security, and reliability, while guiding best practices across the team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced DBA to step into a leadership capacity and make a tangible impact on enterprise-grade systems.

What You'll Do

• Administer and maintain MSSQL databases, ensuring optimal performance and reliability
• Write and optimise T-SQL scripts for various database operations
