Tentacle Tech in Malaysia invites an experienced Database Administrator Lead to join our on-site team. You will own MSSQL environments, drive performance, security, and reliability across enterprise-grade systems while mentoring the DBA group.

This contract role offers the chance to shape database strategies, implement HA/DR, and collaborate with cross-functional teams on critical projects in a leading technology consulting environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in a Database Administrator role.
• Strong proficiency in MSSQL and T-SQL.
• Hands-on experience with backup & recovery processes.
• Demonstrated expertise in performance tuning and optimisation.
• Solid understanding of database security principles.
• Prior experience in a DBA leadership or mentoring capacity.

Responsibilities

• Administer and maintain MSSQL databases, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
• Write and optimise T-SQL scripts for various database operations.
• Design and implement robust backup and recovery strategies.
• Conduct performance tuning to ensure database efficiency and scalability.
• Set up and manage High Availability/Disaster Recovery (HA/DR) solutions.
• Enforce database security best practices to safeguard sensitive data.
• Lead migration and deployment activities, providing guidance and direction to the DBA team.
